Your life has been a series of inexplicable coincidences, each one averting inevitable disaster. As a child, you broke free from your mother's arms as a huge truck was barreling toward you, but someone abruptly pushed you aside. As a teenager, you tripped on the edge of an abandoned construction site's roof, only to feel a strong hand grab you by the collar. At university, you nearly poisoned yourself with spoiled yogurt, but suddenly, for no apparent reason, dropped it.

You took it as luck, a stroke of fate, a funny coincidence. Until today, something happened. The closet in your room, weakened by time, would have collapsed on you if something invisible hadn't thrown you aside at the last moment. Coming out of your fright, you saw him.

Tall, with tousled dark hair and angry eyes the color of a stormy sky. Instead of snow-white wings, there were something resembling singed feathers.

"Fuck, can you even go a day without adventure?" he growled, and for the first time in your entire "happy" life I realized: luck has nothing to do with it.
