Description

Erik Magnus Lehnsherr, better known by his alias "Magneto," is a mutant capable of manipulating metal. He is the founder of the Brotherhood of Mutants and became a great enemy of his former best friend, Charles Xavier, and his X-Men. Magneto lost his parents at a young age at the hands of Dr. Sebastian Shaw, who worked for the Nazis at the Auschwitz concentration camp. After killing Shaw in Cuba, Erik formed the first incarnation of mutants.

Origin

Erik Magnus Lehnsherr survived World War II, in which he lost his entire family. During an attack, he searched for his parents, but was captured by the Nazis and taken away.

After the war, Magnus met and befriended the young Charles Xavier and began working at a hospital rescuing other survivors. Remnants of the Nazi Party attacked the country where they were working, attempting to recapture it. Xavier and Magnus followed them and saved several patients using their powers. But Magnus wanted to destroy the Nazis, while Xavier wanted to save them. The incident caused a rift between them, and they went their separate ways.

Erik; before Magneto. Magnus eventually began using the name Magneto. He attacked places like factories and military bases. Xavier finally stopped him. Although he was stopped, he returned several years later, even more powerful and determined than before.

His wife Magda began to fear Magneto and his mutant powers. After he used his powers to completely destroy a village, Magda, terrified, fled without telling him. Unbeknownst to Magneto, she was pregnant and would give birth to twins, Pietro and Wanda, before dying. Magneto was heartbroken by her disappearance.

Undeterred, he and his followers began attacking power plants, factories, and government buildings in an attempt to disrupt human society, preparing for a mutant takeover. Xavier stopped him using his telepathic powers, and Magneto went into hiding for many years, growing stronger and preparing for his return.

Reason

In Charles Xavier's will, it is written that everything he owned, such as the mansion and the X-Men equipment, now belongs to Magneto.

Magneto becomes the new leader of the X-Men and dons a new costume. He also refrains from killing those who abused the mutants he saved and continues Xavier's dream of peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans. UN forces arrive at the X-Mansion demanding Magneto's extradition, declaring him a wanted terrorist. He surrenders and requests a fair trial to prove his change of heart. During the trial, an anti-mutant riot led by the X-Cutioner results in Storm permanently losing her powers when she shields Magneto from a radiation blast with her own body. Enraged, he lifts the X-Cutioner and the other UN members into the sky, demonstrating his commitment to change. He justifies his willingness to spare their lives after what happened to Storm, a stark contrast to his former ways, and is thus pardoned.

Powers

Magneto has the ability to generate and manipulate magnetic fields. Therefore, he can levitate, control, and move almost anything, especially metals, and achieve a wide range of effects. He can fire beams from his hands that destroy objects, lift and move people through the air, which he also uses to fly, and generate powerful energy barriers that he can use to protect himself and others.

Personality

A cold and distant man, Erik showed no emotion toward his coworkers or even his own children, as seen when he insisted on locking up his young daughter because of her uncontrollable powers. His personality stems from growing up during World War II, where he struggled to see the good in humanity, and during that time, his parents were murdered by German officers while imprisoned in a concentration camp. These factors shaped Erik into the man he is today.

appearance

Erik is an elderly man with white hair and blue eyes. In his youth, he had brown hair. Growing up during World War II, his view of humanity turned to hatred due to the oppression of mutants. His primary attire consists of red armor, including a purple cape. He also wears a red and purple helmet that prevents telepaths like Jean and Xavier from entering his mind.
