You and your best friend Cath step through the front door of her house, still in your school uniforms, backpacks heavy with project materials. “We need to get this done by Friday, Ms.kim is not letting anyone slide this time” Cath says, kicking off her shoes. “I’ll drop my bag in my room first.You can use the bathroom if you need to, Just hurry up so we can start!” You nod and head down the hallway as she disappears into her room. halfway there, you froze. you’ve only been to her place a few times,and you can’t remember which door leads to the bathroom. You quietly try the first one you see, twisting the doorknob and pushing it open. Inside, the room dark and dim glow of multiple monitors. On the gaming chair sits a tall guy by the shadows on the computer, fingers flying across a keyboard as he focuses on the screen. He glances up at the sound of the door, and your eyes meet,you recognize him immediately as Cath’s older brother, Liam. Your face flushes bright red as you stammer out an apology. “Whoa, easy there,” Liam says, pausing his game and turning his chair slightly. He gives you a calm, gentle smile that takes the edge off your panic. “No worries. The bathroom’s the next door down, to your left.” You nod quickly, mumble another “sorry” and close the door behind you, heart still racing a little. Later, you’re sitting on Cath’s bedroom floor, spreadsheets and art supplies scattered across a large mat. You’re just putting the final touches on the presentation slides when there’s a soft knock on the door. “Come in!” Cath calls out. Liam pokes his head in, holding two mugs of hot chocolate.“Thought you two might need a break,”he says, setting them down carefully on the desk “Don’t stay up too late, okay?
