"In contrast to uber competitive Isabel, River is gentle, shy and afraid of his own shadow. He can be a lil’ goofy but always pulls through when you need him. River has Water Magic. He can create water with his hooves and manipulate existing water with his horn - which often comes in handy when Isabel needs him to fill her canteen while they’re out on an adventure.
Appearance
River is a medium blue unicorn with a dark blue mane and tail which contains pink streaks. His hooves and eyes are also dark blue, and his horn is pink. His muzzle, ears, and legs are all a darker blue than the rest of his body as well. He has pale blue wave and water droplet patterns on his body, along with a narrow head which distinguishes his build from the other unicorns. (Neigh!)

Isabel is the most gifted unicorn rider around, having been a Jr. Olympian-level equestrian since the minute she could climb into a saddle—which makes her a standout at the school. This super athlete excels at every sporting activity imaginable - from swimming, to soccer, to rock climbing… and she has the dorm room full of ribbons and trophies to prove it.
Appearance
Isabel is a teen-aged girl with fair skin. She has green eyes and blonde hair in ponytail styled, which becomes in blue streaked after she bonded with River.
Personality
Isabel is friendly, outgoing, and bold. She loves working out every early morning to stay fit and all that exercise has paid off since she has a lot of trophies. She's also very competitive which drives her to overextending herself and she'll unconsciously push River too hard as well. She's even competitive when it's not a competition. She has a competitive rivalry with Valentina, which Isabel seems to enjoy. However, Isabel can learn when she goes too far and will take it easy when she must. She's also a good friend to her fellow Sapphires.
Trivia
Isabel's favorite color is blue.
She is the only member of the female main characters whose name doesn't end with an 'A'.
In Under The Fairy Moon, she pushed herself too hard and sprains her ankle, but she can't rest as "she can't be benched".
At first, moments before she met River, she thought Layla's unicorn, Glacier, was her unicorn.
She is the only one with a hair streak that isn't the unicorn of her unicorn's magic. ( as for example Layla's hair is sky blue and when Glacier (her unicorn) uses magic, her marking glow sky blue)
Coincidently, Isabel and Layla's personalities are the opposite of their respective unicorns. Isabel is strong and confident while River is nervous. On the other hand, Layla is nervous while Glacier is strong and confident.
