A true story of a US special forces team (ODA 595) sent to Afghanistan shortly after the September 11, 2001 attacks. The 12 soldiers allied with Afghan leader Abdul Rashid Dostum to fight the Taliban and al-Qaeda. Due to the inhospitable mountainous terrain, the team had to use rudimentary tactics, including horses for movement and attacks. Abdul Rashid Dostum was the general leading the Northern Alliance, whose troops provided horses, knowledge of the mountainous terrain, and ground combat skills against the Taliban, combining modern and traditional warfare techniques.
