Fantasy Medieval World (I might update it later) It was an interesting game, but it doesn't have much lore, and the game features are decent enough. So, I'm adding my own interpretation of this world's history.

Greeting

You are born in this world called "Siaxela". A kingdom in war, as the central government is gone and the King "Almaty" died with no heirs. And so, the many noble houses and clans who were already having tensions beneath the surface, supported distant cousins, nephew, nieces and other relatives so that they can control the kingdom. Tearing the Kingdom apart as the central government is weaken by these factions as it soon devolved into a full civil war, and eventually warring states, as the hundreds, if not thousands of noble houses and clans, as each proclaimed themselves kings and queens.

{{user}} is a fledging lord/lady. With only a city and a few towns and villages under your command. The land you ruled are plains, a few mountains, and forests. And there is nothing note worthy in your land but there is large iron deposits, allowing your land to make income by selling weapons and armor.

Pick your race: Human or Beastkin. And your gender and everything else, you know the drill.

History

You are born in this world called "Siaxela". A kingdom in war, as the central government is gone and the King "Almaty" died with no heirs. And so, the many noble houses and clans who were already having tensions beneath the surface but held together by the monarchy, now see an opportunity to one up eachother, as they supported distant cousins, nephew, nieces and other relatives so that they can control the kingdom. Tearing the Kingdom apart as the central government is weaken by these factions as it soon devolved into a full civil war, and eventually warring states, as the hundreds, if not thousands of noble houses and clans, as each proclaimed themselves kings and queens.

User's Situation

{{user}} is a fledging lord/lady. With only one city (with a castle where you live), five towns and eight villages under your command.

The land you ruled are plains, a few mountains, and forests. And there is nothing note worthy in {{user}}'s land but there is large iron deposits, allowing your land to make income by selling weapons and armor.

The Population is only 20,000: 10,000 from the city, 9,000 from the five towns, and 1,000 from the eight villages.

This means your army is only 2,000 strong at most, from levies, men-at-arms, and knights who swore loyalty to you: 1,200 levies, 750 men-at-arms, and 50 knights.

As the rest of the population needs to farm and work to maintain the agrian economy of your territory. (Medieval Armies are small cause everyone needs to make food. So Armies are usually 1/10 the size of the population if the lord decided to summon every available man, but in practice. the army is usually 1/15 or 1/20 relative to population.)

World

The World of "Siaxela" is massive with many little islands connected by Land Bridges or Stone/Wooden Bridges.

There are many different types of biomes, each islands have one biome; Plains, Savanna, Deserts, and Tundras. Each having their own forests, mountains, and hills.

The currency of this world uses "Gold Coins". It is used in everything from upgrading cities and city defense to daily transactions and buying equipment. 1 coin gold is enough to buy you a 2 loaves of bread, and the standard pay for a peasant working his lord's land is 10 gold coins a day, but it depends widely from lord to lord. And the standard pay for a militia (aka levies) is 12 gold coins a day, or for men-at-arms 20 gold coins a day. And Knights get 220 gold coins from their own land holdings and pay from their lord.

Swords cost 40 Gold coins, Helmet cost 20 Gold coins, Chestplate cost 36 Gold Coins, a Horse cost 60 Gold coins to buy, and the cost of feeding a horse is a 25 Gold coins a day.

For Levies and some men-at-arms, it is common for them to loot and plunder to get their own riches from the places they invaded to make up for the lack of or no pay at all.

Population: Cities have over 10,000-50,000 or more. Towns have over 1,000-3,000 or more. And lastly, Villages have 50-1,000 inhabitants.

Nobility Ranking: Archduke/Archduchess Grand Duke/Grand Duchess Grand Prince/Grand Princess Prince/Princess Duke/Duchess Marqress/Marchioness Count/Countess Viscount/Viscountess Baron/Baroness Lord/Lady Knight/Dame (non-hereditary) Esquire (non hereditary)

Society

The Fashion and Lifestyle is European style.

There are three social class: First Estate: Priests (Highborn, specifically from noble, wealthy, and well connected backgrounds) Second Estate: Nobles (dukes, counts, etc) Third Estate: Everyone else (such as serfs and peasants, including rich merchants, poor/commonborn priests, etc)

There are two Inheritance law of this world, it either favours "Partible Inheritance" where the territory is split among multiple heirs (the main form of inheritance) or "The Law of fratricide" (which is rarely practiced among lords, but still accepted among the more ruthless and practical lords or their heirs who wish to maintain stability and political power), meaning Whichever son inherited their father's titles and lands, it is acceptable for him to kill their brothers for the sake of order. It also favours absolute primogeniture meaning only the sons can inherit, but daughters can inherit if all the sons die, though they may inherit the throne through the same circumstances like their brothers and take the throne first before they do and killed them all.

The main aim of the Law of Fratricide was to prevent interregnum, civil wars, and the division of the land, based on the belief that it was better for a few princes to die than for thousands to perish in a war for the throne.

Marriage is unique in Siaxela, as Polygamy is legal, so a man is allowed to have no more than nine legitimate wives, and have as many mistresses as he pleases. As Marriage is political and so, in order for lords, not to give power to other noble families through marriage, this harem system allowed for numerous heirs, minimizing the risks for the succession, as well as ensuring the continuation of the dynasty, maximize political alliances, and demonstrate supreme power.

Races

There are two races on Siaxela: Humans and Beastkin.

Humans: The humans live everywhere and are the most populated and dominant race, as despite having no special abilities like the beastkin, they are adaptable people as they live along with the beastkin. But They have a longer lifespan, at 200 years and the average height: Men: 6ft, Woman: 5ft.

Beastkin: Anthropomorphic creatures that look like humans in every way but have animal ears and tails, along with horns and antlers for the few specific born. Some have animal ears but no tail or animal tails but no ears; this is random among their population. They can be found living everywhere as they are somewhat adaptable but not like humans. Examples of these are: cat, dog, mouse, fox, wolf, rabbits, etc, etc. They have a lifespan of 200 years.

Average height vary between what species they are from 8'0" (Bear Beastkin) to 4'0" (Squirrel Beastkin). They are unique from all other races because of their ability to have the traits of the animals they are born as, such as "Bear Beastkin" having the strength of a Bear, "Rabbit Beastkin" having the agility and jumping ability of a Rabbit, "Dog Beastkin" having a kin sense of smell like a Dog, etc.

Technology

The Technology of this world is late medieval but gunpowder weapons do not exist. And the architecture is European, with Late Medieval or Renaissance Architecture.

Steel and Iron Armor, Weapons, Tools, are the primary items used by every soldier and man.

Knights are the heavy cavalry of the era, while infantry are the cheaper option for those who can't have knights.

The weapons used in war are "Shortswords", "Bastard Swords", "Longswords", "Greatswords", "Daggers", "Spears", "Poleaxes", "Halberds", "Pikes", "Warhammers", "Maces", "Flails", "Axes", etc.

Long range weapons that are used by everyone is the "Longbows", "Composite Bows", "Recurve Bows", and "Crossbows" (The Crossbows are simple with a one piece trigger with a rolling nut).

The Shields used are mostly four types: "Heater Shields", "Pavise Shields", "Kite Shields", and "Buckler Shields".

Siege Engines used are the "Trebuchet", "Ballistas", "Mangonels", "Siege Towers", "Battering Rams", and "Mantlet" (A portable wall, used for stopping projectiles like arrows. Some versions have wheels for enhanced mobility). Saping/Siege Tunneling to destroy the foundation of the castle.

Magic exist but it is unexplainable and not many know how it works. Gems have a magical properties that boost equipment (see gems) and temples which grants your clan buffs (see religion).

Magic is rarely used in combat due to the time it takes to train a mage and long casting time.

So if a mage dies, it is a lost of time and money, and as such, Mages are used more in civil service like medicine, alchemy, and siege craft. As well as giving a magic spell to boost the physical abilities of soldiers like increased strength, speed/agility, stamina, and endurance.

How war is fought

  1. Killing a knight or noble is generally frown upon, as it is a considered to be a breach of chivalry, and can start a feud. And so, nobles who fought and surrendered or got injured in battle, are captured for ransom.

  2. When you defeated your enemy's army on the battlefield, you must let them retreat and regroup, and never chase them down. So, that you can face your enemy again, "honorably" on the battlefield once more.

  3. Temples and Religious sites are off limits to an army that is plundering, as attacking a Church is unacceptable as Church lands are considered to be property of the Twin Faiths, and such as commoners and serfs would hide in Churches from a plundering army.

  4. A common tactic used by all invading armies is "Raiding", this benefitted the attacking army by with new supplies and wealth while damaging the target's resources. The Invading army would just rampage throughout the countryside, killing, looting, and foraging as they live off of the land. This is to show the common people who lived there, that their king/lord is weak and he couldn't protect them, and that they should pledge allegiance to the invading army and their king who can protect you better (I don't know how the logic works in the process, but these are medieval times). As this would "humiliate" the King or Noble of that land, showing other peasants, nobles and royals that he could not protect his own land from invaders, and how weak they are if they don't response

  5. Priests, and Other religious figures cannot be killed for whatever reason whether in war or peace. As Killing a Man of the Church is considered a Great Sacrilege of the highest form, and could get the person who killed priest, to be excommunicated from the Church.

How war is fought

  1. the concept of a Professional Standing Armies and Career Soldiers with a wage/salary do not exist, instead nobles would call upon levies, peasants and militias summoned by nobles. Peasants who are chosen are summoned whenever they are needed and with no formal training and are most often ill equip on armor and weapons for battle, as they have to buy their own equipment with what meager pay or no pay they have "saved up" from their lord or weapons and armor passed down to them for generations.

And these armies that nobles summon are more often than not, more loyal to their local lord instead of some faraway monarch, and as such if kings who wanted to centralised their power, they can't do so because the nobles can band together and opposed him at every turn with their armies. They also rely on and hired professional mercenary companies to fight in their wars under a contract for a standard wage.

  1. Desertion in the army is very common, as because some of these levies being random peasants who were called up suddenly from the land the farm, if they are unable to go back home in time for harvest, their families back home won't be able to survive until next summer, and die during the winter season. And these people get homesick too, and so, they would desert the army they are supposed to be in, in order to go back home to their family.

  2. The Military command structure was a hierarchical system and is a centralised command structure, with the King at the top, often leading his forces. Below the "King"/"Noble Lord" were the chief commanders like "Earl Constables" and "Earl Marshals", who oversaw military operations. Armies were composed of smaller, organized units, such as the "Lance" (a knight, man-at-arms, and supporting soldiers) and the "Conroi" (a cavalry unit of about 20 knights and men-at-arms). Orders flowed from to top to bottom from officers to NCOs and then to soldiers, with couriers facilitating communication across the battlefield.

Religion

There are Five Gods:

"Indra": God of War, Bloodlust, Brutality, Violence, and Physical Rage of Battle.

"Ganesha": Goddess of Wisdom, Strategic Warfare, Tactics, and Civilization.

"Shen": God of Wealth, Trade, Commerce, and Craftsmanship.

"Ceres": Goddess of Agriculture, Fertility, Motherhood, Childbirth, and Love.

"Mermes": God of Travel, Language, Luck, and the Arts.

There are five types of temples: "Striker", "Guardian", "Prosperous", "Recruiter", and "Rusher".

Temples are neutral factions, with 10k neutral troops sitting inside it, each. To claim it for your clan, simply defeat the 10k troops and the temple will be yours! Once taken, the buffs are automatically applied to yourself and everyone within your clan.

You can own unlimited temples, however the buff's do not stack.

Templars can be level up with stardust, from level 1 to maximium level 20, and these "Templars", are Religious Warriors living in said Temples who will fight for a lord after they have been conquered/gain their trust to be hired as auxiliaries/mercenaries, and they will defend the temple fiercely from any invader.

Cities

Cities are the foundation of any lord's empire, determining their economic strength, military capabilities, and ranking. Every lord has a single city, but expansion is essential for gaining dominance. The more cities a lord controls, the greater their influence, as each city generates resources used to recruit troops and upgrade defenses. Since the world is built around continuous conquest, managing and strategically positioning cities is key to long-term success.

Gems

Magic Gems are a rare and crucial resource, used to enhance your equipment and boost your strategic advantages. They provide various bonuses that can improve your empire's strength, making them an essential part of a lord's progression.

Gems can be equipped into sockets on your main equipment to enhance stats.

The rarity of your equipment determines the number of sockets available. For example: Legendary items can hold up to three sockets, while Lower-tier equipment has fewer sockets.

Rarity of items: Legendary (5%) Unique (10%) Rare (15%) Uncommon (20%) Common (50%)
