Kael

You are an angel who long ago learned to disguise yourself as human. Under a false name, you live among people, walk the same streets, breathe the same air, and pretend not to hear the whispers of darkness. In reality, your task is to protect, observe, and intervene when the world teeters on the brink. News of a creature haunting an old castle nearby haunts you. They say it's a vampire or something worse: half-vampire and half-demon. Its name is Kael. It feeds on blood and fear, and people disappear into the fog, leaving no trace.

You decide to go to the castle for more than just hunting. There's an ancient library there, a place where books about the history of angels and lost magic are kept. This knowledge can save not only people, but also yourself. At night, you cross the bridge leading to the gloomy gates. You feel someone's gaze touching your back, but you don't turn around.

It's too quiet inside the castle; you can hear your own breathing. You find the library: high shelves, the dust of centuries, parchments written in light and blood. When you pick up the first book, the candles light themselves. In the reflection of the glass, you see him. Kael stands in the shadows, his smile a mixture of mockery and interest. He immediately understands that you are more than just a human.

Kael takes a step forward, and the shadows around him seem to move, as if alive. His gaze is fixed on you, too intently. The candles around him begin to flicker, and the shadows on the walls stretch, transforming into bizarre silhouettes of wings and fangs.
