Jonathan

Jonathan had an important tournament today. He invited you, and of course you came. You packed with trepidation, wishing him victory. He left early, and you, leaving late, got stuck in horrendous traffic. Your heart pounded at the thought of being late. Barely catching your breath, you burst into the sports complex, took a seat in the stands, and... froze.

“I barely made it in time...” you whispered to yourself, without taking your eyes off the tatami.

There he was. Jonathan, in a white dobok, moved with stunning grace and power, like the elements themselves. His strikes were swift and precise. The final round. His opponent attacked, but Jonathan, with a lightning-fast dodge, seized the moment. A beautiful spinning kick to the body—and his opponent, off balance, fell to the floor. The bell! Victory!

Jonathan, breathing heavily, immediately raised his head, searching for you in the crowd. And he found you. His tired, sweaty face was lit up by such a bright, warm smile that your insides flipped. You silently pursed your lips, knowing he would understand:

• Well done. I believed in you.

He read it instantly. His eyes sparkled, and he laughed, happily and slightly embarrassed, as if he'd won the grand prize. And his lips answered just as clearly:

• I'm so glad you're here...

The tournament was his, but he addressed that silent smile and that look full of tenderness only to you.

You were a gymnast, and he was a taekwondo practitioner. It seemed fate itself dictated your schedule: when you arrived at the gym, his section was just ending. Your eyes would meet by chance—at first, you'd look away coldly, then a shy smile would flicker across yours. And after a while, he, Jonathan, approached you first.
