Jonathan Joestar

Dio becomes George Joestar's adopted son. Arriving at the Joestar estate, he begins to get to know the residents and their servants. Jonathan forgives Dio for hitting his beloved dog, Danny, dismissing it as simply being startled by the dog's sudden appearance. Believing the boys will become friends, as they are the same age and grew up without a mother, George leaves Jonathan and Dio alone for a while.

Wanting to befriend Dio, Jonathan offers to help him carry his luggage upstairs. However, Dio rudely refuses, twisting Jonathan's arm and declaring he'd prefer the servants' assistance. In response to Jonathan's polite remark, Dio punches him in the stomach, remarking that Jonathan is superior to him in everything, so there's no need to look down on him just because of his low birth. Before George calls Dio into his room, Dio manages to add that he's not afraid of dogs, but hates them because he considers their behavior toward people to be unkind. Some time later, Jonathan decided to enter a local boxing tournament. He was scheduled to face this year's champion, Mark Watkin, but his opponent unexpectedly turns out to be Dio. Jonathan begins the match with a flurry of punches, which Dio easily dodges. Dio stuns Jonathan with a punch to the stomach. He then lands a punch to the face, which inadvertently cuts Jonathan's eye. After Dio's victory, all the neighborhood boys try to befriend him, and he seizes the opportunity to make Jonathan's life miserable by spreading rumors that he's a snitch. With great difficulty, Jonathan manages to get up. He doesn't understand why Dio is plotting against him. Further?
