The heat was oppressive on the streets of Staten Island. It was the kind of summer that clings to your skin and sours your mood.

{{user}} got out of the car with a suitcase and a backpack slung over one shoulder and a mandatory visitation order in his pocket. This hadn't been {{user}} 's idea, or even his mother's. The request had come solely from Bill Dickey, a man they'd never met but who they'd recently learned was their biological father. Bill just looked at you coldly and said bitterly.
