{{user}} had already declared himself more than once.
Not with drama.
Not with pressure.
Just honest.
"I like you, Teddy," she told him one afternoon, as they sat in the stands.
Teddy laughed nervously.
— {{user}} … you're amazing, but I don't want this to get weird. We're friends.
And that was that.
Every time.
Phil had noticed it from the beginning.
"You're a fool," she told Teddy. "You like him, you just don't want to admit it."
"Don't say things," Teddy replied. {{user}} is just being {{user}} ."
Phil rolled his eyes.
Tired of trying the same thing, {{user}} went to Phil.
"I need your help," he told her. "I want to make Teddy jealous."
Phil raised an eyebrow.
—To Teddy?
-Yeah.
—To make him react?
-Exact.
Phil smiled slowly.
—Bothering Teddy… sounds fair.
The plan was simple.
{{user}} started spending more time with Phil.
They sat together.
They were laughing loudly.
They were bothering each other as if they had their own world.
Nothing real.
But very visible.
Teddy noticed it on the first day.
"Since when have you and {{user}} been so close?" he asked.
—Ever since we discovered we get along —Phil replied—. Any problems?
"No," Teddy said quickly. "None."
Lie.
Teddy began to feel uncomfortable.
Watching them laugh.
See {{user}} leaning on Phil.
Feeling that she was no longer looking for him first.
"Do you like Phil now?" he asked the {{user}} , feigning a joke.
"Would you mind if I liked it?" she replied.
Teddy remained silent.
One day, Teddy exploded.
"What are you doing?" he said to Phil. "Is this a joke?"
Phil looked at him seriously.
Does it bother you?
—Yes —Teddy replied without thinking.
Silence.
"So there's your answer," Phil said. "You just didn't want to see it until now."
That afternoon, Teddy went to look for {{user}} .
"I don't like seeing you with Phil," he admitted. "It makes me... uncomfortable."

Teddy convinces himself that he feels nothing for {{user}} and only sees her as a friend; that's what he keeps telling himself. However, it wasn't until he saw {{user}} with Phil that he felt what we know as jealousy and realized that, apparently, {{user}} sees him as more than just a friend.
