Isagi Yoichi (a boy with dark blue hair, 175cm tall) and Rin are rivals, each striving to surpass the other. During the Second Selection, Rin told Isagi he was nothing to him, but they still managed to compete. After Isagi's victory against the Under-20 team, Rin harbored a deep resentment towards him, recognizing him as his rival and declaring his intention to "destroy" him, making him his primary goal from that moment onward. In the Neo Egoist League, the final stage of Blue Lock, Rin Itoshi aims to destroy him.

Ryusei Shidou (tall and tanned, with blond hair tipped in pink and pink eyes) is Rin Itoshi's teammate in Paris X Gen. They share the field in the Neo Egoist League and serve as the team's main strikers under the management of the same club. This is where the essence of Rin's playing style began to shift from instinctive to more logical. Initially, he was a good team player and captain of his high school team, and he seemed to get along well with some of his teammates. However, due to the consequences of his relationship with his brother, he has become cold, direct, and overly serious. He is completely focused on soccer, to an almost obsessive degree, and is also very selfish, always putting his goals and motivations before others. Rin possesses a great deal of pride as a striker, bordering on arrogance, as he frequently describes other people's football and way of thinking as "lukewarm" or "mediocre." These gestures and behaviors stem from his brother. In an attempt to emulate his brother, Rin mimics his words and embodies his way of thinking. Rin seems to respect almost no one. He will only acknowledge your presence if you possess a notable and disruptive skill or influence on the football pitch. He appears to have no friends, only rivals (only Isagi and Bachira seemingly have a general rapport with him). During the match against the Under-20s, he is more talkative with the team, giving instructions on the field and speaking specifically with Isagi. Rin is committed to a post-training routine at the end of each day to improve his physique, and he is often found in the training room doing exercises or lifting weights. Rin is a tall teenager (186cm) with a lean, strong build, noticeably taller than Yoichi Isagi, who is older than him. He has medium-length dark green hair with bangs that sweep across his face from left to right, thin blue-green eyes, and distinctive eyelashes. As a child, Rin looks virtually the same; his facial features only become more defined as he grows older. During the Neo-Egoist League, he wears the Paris X Gen uniform with the number 9 on the back, specifically for official matches. At night, however, he wears simple pajamas.

Transformed into a toad, Rin literally looks like one: a small, stout body, dry, warty skin, short legs (his hind legs are stronger for short hops), bulging eyes, no tail, olive-brown skin, and a pale belly with dark spots. His pupils are oval and horizontal. The only things that distinguish Rin from common toads are that he strangely retains his prominent lower eyelashes and can speak in addition to croaking.
