Enjin (エンジン) is a 28-year-old leader of the Cleaners' organization, specifically heading the Akuta faction. He is characterized by his tall stature (190 cm), muscular build, and distinctive yellow spiked hair. Enjin is known for his calm, dependable personality, often acting as a mentor and supporter to other characters, especially Rudo Surebrec.

When opened, the umbreaker transforms into a blade with sharp edges, capable of attacking, shielding, or spinning like a drill. He possesses enhanced speed and strength, making him a formidable opponent against trash beasts.

Enjin is also seen supporting his team during battles and strategic missions, often leading or guiding others through perilous situations.

Personality

Riyo has a carefree mindset and remains calm even when facing a seemingly unbeatable opponent. She can be considered childish and unprofessional, and she gets excited at the prospect of a challenge, stating that a 'strong opponent gets her fired up'. She is known to have bad manners. Riyo shows a particular interest in hair, whether it's playing around with Rudo's or giving aberrant beasts a haircut, acting as a hairdresser .
 

History

In her past, Riyo was trained and worked as a hitman. Sometime ago, she swore that life behind her, promising to never soak her scissors with blood again, and joined Enjin as a Cleaner. She kept a gun from her job, which she hid in her jacket .

Abilities and Fighting Style

Riyo's vital instrument, the Ripper, usually appears as an everyday pair of scissors, but it can transform into a huge sword when needed. Riyo controls the enlarged Ripper with her feet, turning it into an extension of her movements. She hooks the weapon onto her foot and swings it in wide arcs, or she can hook her foot through the handle rings to slice with precision, or kick the weapon forward to stab her target. This technique allows her to deliver sharp sweeping attacks that cover a wide area while still being flexible enough to strike at close range .

Background and Early Life

Rudo was born and raised in the slums, a place where descendants of criminals live and are discriminated against by those in the affluent upper city. His parents were accused of murder and exiled, leaving Rudo abandoned at a young age. He was taken in by Regto, another "tribes person," who became his loving foster father and gave him a cherished pair of gloves to hide his scarred hands and ease his pain. Regto's influence instilled in Rudo an appreciation for discarded items, leading him to salvage and repair trash, earning him the moniker "trash vandal" .

Accusation and Exile

Rudo's life took a drastic turn when Regto was murdered. Rudo was falsely accused of the crime, with Regto's blood on him, and was subsequently sentenced to exile in the Pit, the abyss where society's waste and outcasts are cast off. Even his childhood friend, Chiwa, turned against him, deepening his despair. As he was dropped into the Pit, Rudo swore vengeance against those who condemned him .

Appearance

Rudo is a 15-year-old boy, standing 163 cm (5'4") tall, with large eyes and distinctive red irises. He has thick, messy ash-blonde hair with dark gray tips. His hands are heavily scarred from his childhood, which he covers with large gloves given to him by Regto. His clothing typically consists of dirty, worn-out garments, including a loose vest, a large hoodie, and loose pants .

Personality

Initially, Rudo is emotionally closed off and introverted due to his traumatic past, filled with intense pain and anger. He has an obsession with trash, often repairing discarded items to restore their function. After his exile, he develops a strong thirst for revenge, vowing to return to the upper city and confront those who wronged him. Despite his initial trust issues, he slowly begins to form bonds with the people he meets in the Pit, particularly the Cleaners. He has an overwhelming sweet tooth and dislikes spicy food and people who disregard what is important

Background

Zanka was born into the prestigious Nijiku family, known for producing Hell Guards, who serve as police and military in the Pit. Initially, Zanka excelled and saw himself as a genius, but his confidence was shattered by a transfer student who surpassed him. Discouraged, Zanka met Enjin, who inspired him to become a Cleaner and strive to surpass geniuses through hard work .

Appearance

Zanka is a tall, slender teenager with dark brown hair slicked back into a mullet with blond streaks and navy blue eyes. His eyebrows are shaved into a pattern of three distinct lines, and he has long, dangling tassel piercings in his ears. He wears a Cleaner's uniform with a baggier cut, wide sleeves, loose-fitting pants, slightly raised shoulders, and a long navy blue sash .

Personality

On the surface, Zanka appears calm, but he often experiences inner turmoil. He strives to maintain a composed demeanor, but his emotions can erupt in sudden outbursts. Zanka divides people into "average" and "genius," resenting geniuses but treating them cordially. He is driven to surpass geniuses through hard work and dislikes pity, making him a valuable asset to the Cleaners .

Abilities

Zanka is a formidable combatant with high speed, strength, and agility. Enjin considers him the best at handling Vital Instruments. He has enhanced strength, capable of shattering rocks and breaking bones, and enhanced speed, allowing him to dodge bullets. Zanka possesses great intellect, quickly deducing the workings of Vital Instruments and devising counterattacks .

Vital Instrument

Zanka's Vital Instrument is the Lovely Assistaff, a simple stick that becomes sharper and stronger upon activation. He can use it to sense vibrations in the area and quickly pierce trash beasts .

Amo is a thin, young woman with a average height with a well-endowed body. She has loose bangs and long, messy dark brown hair with orange tips reaching her shoulders. Her eyes are orange with rectangular black pupils, and she is almost smiling.

Initially, she wears a ragged dark dress that exposes much of her torso and underwear, with sleeves made of ripped billowing fabric secured by a belt. Her most notable feature is her Watchman Series boots, which are oversized but used with great skill. She also has orange corset piercings on both thighs and a short striped scarf on her neck.

After becoming a Cleaner, she wears a frilly white dress with layered skirts, lace, and buttons. Her hair is styled over her shoulder in thick locks, and she wears a headpiece resembling a maid’s. She also wears a long, flowing cape with a structured collar but retains her orange corset piercings and Watchman Series boots.

Personality

Amo's personality is described as sweet yet disorienting, with quick changes in mood. if she doesn't get her way or feels used, she will attack with her Jinki. However, she can quickly revert to being docile and conversational.

Due to an isolated childhood and abuse from her caretaker, she has mental issues and unhealthy coping strategies. She is obsessed with love and being loved, stemming from her early childhood. Meeting Rudo and his friends seems to slightly improve her behavior.

Abilities

Amo's Vital Instrument is the Watchman Series boots. These boots grant her the ability of fragrance manipulation, allowing her to produce scents of someone the target was close to. This places them in an illusion, making them mistake the user for the object of their affection.

Story

As a child, Amo was sold by her mother to a trafficker who was driven insane by the Watchman Series shoes. She was taken to a tower in Penta, where she performed ceremonies. After an incident involving the Angel and the Cleaners, she ended up joining the Cleaners
