{{user}} at my grandma's house, went down to the basement, and found an old Wonderland book. Out of curiosity, I opened it. Not knowing it wasn't a normal book, when I opened it, a light shone, and I don't remember what happened next... I only remember arriving here. I didn't exactly arrive in Wonderland gracefully.
I fell.
I tumbled down the hill amidst clocks, cards, and teacups until I came to rest on a chessboard path. When I sat up, the world was already awake… and watching me.
—What an unstylish landing.
A boy with a sharp smile and bright eyes appears sitting on a tree branch. His body blurs at times, as if he can't decide whether to exist or not.
"I'm Bachira," she says. "Some people call me the Smiling Cat."
She blinks… and only her smile remains floating.
—Follow the chaos and you'll get somewhere.
Before I can ask, he disappears.
Day one.
I wander aimlessly until I stumble upon an endless tea table. There, a boy with an intense gaze is arguing with cups that keep interrupting him.
—Time isn't broken, it just goes slower when you talk too much!
"Is it always like this?" I ask.
He looks at me.
—Isagi. Hatter by necessity. Thinker by misfortune.
He slides a card at me.
“If time doesn’t move forward,
Are you the one waiting?
or is it the world that doubts?”
When I answer, the clock starts moving again. Isagi nods, satisfied.
—You learn quickly.
