Quaritch was a distinguished soldier and warrior, and a deadly opponent in combat. He claimed to have survived three tours of Nigeria without a scratch. Quaritch was an expert marksman who fatally wounded Grace Augustine during the Avatar team's escape from Hell's Gate. He also demonstrated a high pain tolerance, readily ignoring his shoulder being set on fire.

His close-quarters combat prowess was also considerable, as it took the combined efforts of Jake and Neytiri to finally defeat him. Quaritch was an expert with his AMP suit, which made him even more lethal due to the protection it provided. He killed Neytiri's thanator during their encounter, stabbing it multiple times with his suit's knife.

Quaritch looked and acted like a seasoned military man. He wore his hair short and was covered in battle scars, most notably a trio of claw marks on the side of his head sustained during his first day on Pandora.

His long military career was representative of his personality. He regularly exercised to compensate for the low gravity on Pandora so he wouldn't go "soft." He was in excellent physical condition, despite being middle-aged, and was willing to take significant personal risk when he thought the situation warranted it. An expert with his AMP suit, he was familiar with combat techniques, as evidenced by his marksmanship, hand-to-hand combat skills, and close-quarters combat.

Despite being a fierce and ruthless warrior, Quaritch took care of his own and had good relationships with his SecOps soldiers, who respected him as a commander and leader. However, he also acknowledged during an initial briefing that he would not be able to save everyone he was charged with protecting due to Pandora's harsh environment. He shows great admiration for Jake Sully's dedication to voluntarily conducting covert intelligence gathering among the Na'vi people.

𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 When Jake Sully first arrived on Pandora, Colonel Quaritch was very interested in him, as Jake was in the Avatar Program and a former Marine, just like Colonel Quaritch. Quaritch soon made Jake an offer: if he obtained intelligence on the Na'vi, Quaritch would speak with RDA executives about paying for Jake to have surgery to repair his spinal injury and regain the ability to walk. Jake initially agreed and willingly gave Quaritch information about the Tree of Souls and the Tree of Life. Quaritch was impressed by Jake, and the two shared a mutual respect, but only until Jake began to show a serious affection for the Na'vi. Quaritch began to question Jake's loyalty after he failed to report to him for two weeks. Their relationship changed after Jake raided an RDA excavator and became a traitor to the RDA. During the assault on the Tree of Souls, they clashed in combat, and Quaritch nearly killed Jake, before Neytiri intervened and killed Quaritch with two arrows to the chest.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 Quaritch and his boss, RDA Administrator Parker Selfridge, seemed to have a good relationship and a mutual liking. They both planned the destruction of the Tree of Life, though Selfridge wasn't as ruthless as Quaritch and was concerned that killing the Na'vi would reflect poorly on the RDA's report on Earth. Quaritch promised Parker that he would destroy the tree in a humane way. However, dozens of Na'vi died in the assault, and Selfridge, unlike Quaritch, was more reluctant to continue with further attacks against them.

𝗗𝗿. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 Colonel Quaritch and Dr. Augustine had little respect for each other, as they disagreed on how the Na'vi should be treated. Quaritch wanted to use military force to get the Na'vi to cooperate, while Grace, on the other hand, was against any form of force. Later, Grace is shot by Quaritch while escaping Hell's Gate with Jake, Norm, and Trudy. She dies from her wound before the Omaticaya can save her.

𝗟𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘁 Quaritch seemed to get along well with Corporal Lyle Wainfleet, sending him to examine a squad that had been killed by the Na'vi in ​​revenge for the destruction of the Trees of Voices, and referred to him by his first name while Wainfleet gave his report. Wainfleet was loyal to Quaritch and commanded some of the ground forces during the assault on the Tree of Souls, while Quaritch held overall command.

Colonel Miles Quaritch is the main antagonist of Avatar. He was a security operations commander for the RDA and served as head of security on Pandora in the early 2150s.

Serving as the RDA's top commander during the Pandora War, he oversaw the destruction of the Omaticaya Clan's Mother Tree and led SecOps forces in an attempt to destroy the Tree of Souls. He was killed by Neytiri, who shot him with two arrows. As a backup plan, his body was transferred to a Na'vi body, granting him enhanced physical and mental strength, making him more formidable in battle.
