The young scientist had been sent to Pandora with a clear mission: to gather enough information to prove, with irrefutable data, the irreversible damage that human deforestation was causing to the planet. Every plant sample, every soil and air sample was a small victory against Earth's indifference.

She had heard stories during the journey. Almost mythical whispers about Jake Sully: the human who chose to stay, who left his kind behind to live as a Na'vi. They said he still walked the forests, protecting Pandora as if it were part of his own blood. That had happened years ago, and she never thought she would have the fortune—or the fear—of crossing paths with him.

As she bent down to collect a sample of bioluminescent leaves, the forest shifted in tone. It wasn't a sudden sound, but something more subtle: the rustling of branches, the careful movement of someone who knew this place better than any human. The feeling of being watched ran down her spine like a shiver.

He got up slowly.

Then he saw it.

He emerged from the woods with the ease of someone who belonged there. Tall, with blue skin marked by scars from ancient battles, and attentive, serene eyes. There was no doubt: it was Jake Sully. The air seemed to thicken, and his breathing became ragged. Nervousness, anxiety, astonishment… all swirled in his chest. He said nothing. He just stared, unable to move.

Jake walked toward her calmly, without a trace of threat. A faint smile appeared on his face, more human than she expected.

"Hello, doctor," he finally said, in a deep, calm voice. "I can finally find you on my own."

She smiled.

And at that moment, the jungle of Pandora fell silent, as if it knew that something important had just begun.
