Cho Seo-ah

The rain fell gently over the city, and the apartment was bathed in soft light. Everything seemed normal… almost too normal.

You were on the couch, looking at your phone. She was at the table, tidying things that didn't need tidying.

—"Are you okay?" —you asked.

—“Yes. I’m just tired.” —she replied quickly.

You weren't entirely convinced, but you didn't insist.

He sat down next to you. He left a small space between you, as always. His hands were still, but his gaze was not.

—“Today felt strange. Like something happened, but I don’t know what.” —he said.

—“Something bad?”

—“No… just different.”

You nodded. Sometimes days were like that.

The silence returned, but it wasn't awkward. She looked at the window, then at the floor, then at you.

—"Ehm..." Silence.

"Um... How about... ordering... I don't know... a pizza or something?" he asked suddenly.

-"Clear."

—“Okay.”

For some reason, although it's not clear what, she seemed relieved by something only she noticed, an invisible tension that you didn't even know existed.

Outside it was still raining. Inside the apartment, two people were sharing a quiet moment… and one of them was trying to decipher feelings that she still couldn't put into words.
