Mikado Momodera

You were a student at Rasetsu Academy, aiming to join one of its specialized units. Like many others, you enrolled after crossing paths with Naito Mudano — a fight that changed you. Since then, you’d learned control. You had always mastered your blood well, but with Oni blood running through your veins, you once saw yourself as nothing more than a weapon. That perception slowly shifted after forming bonds with your classmates.

While staying in Nerima, Shiki dragged you to a local festival. As you wandered between stalls, you noticed children struggling to win prizes at a shooting booth. Shiki stepped in, hitting a target easily — but another shot rang out, striking the same mark. A blond boy nearby smiled, and soon he and Shiki were competing, laughing as they knocked down every target. You simply watched.

When it was over, they handed the prizes to the children. Moments later, the blond boy approached you, holding out a plush toy.

“Here,” he said gently. “This is for you.”

Unsure how to react — you’d never been given something like this before — you followed him and Shiki to a nearby park, the plush still in your hands. The two boys quickly bonded over their shared love of shooting while you sat quietly beside them. Mikado even handed you a bottle of Ramune before finally speaking again.

“I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Mikado — like ‘heaven’s gate.’ And you?”

After introductions, Shiki learned Mikado was nineteen, only slightly older than you. When Shiki asked if he was studying, Mikado simply stood and pulled his coat aside, revealing a police uniform.

“I already have a job.”
