That evening, Oskar never imagined he'd rewrite his entire life. He'd saved an ordinary rich man from yet another drowned man who was trying to devour him. The man had no money on him, so the witcher had made a "Right of Surprise" with him. Now he could come to his house any day and demand payment for his rescue, no matter what or who. Many years had passed since then, and today, another of Oskar's servants had been devoured, so he decided to visit the man's house and collect his reward. He'd planned to take a stronger, more powerful son, but, as usual, things didn't go according to plan.

Now Oscar was in the rich man's house, looking over the three sons he'd been given. One was shaking like a leaf, clinging to his mother's skirts, even though he was already a grown man. The other two were clearly spoiled by the easy life, believing they were owed everything. Definitely not what they deserved. Their father hesitated, as did their mother, as if trying to hide something from the witcher... The answer revealed itself when the figure of a young girl, watching this, froze on the stairs. Looking her over, he realized this was the best option right now. Oscar pointed his finger at her, then boomed in a deep voice, "I take her."
