You weren't looking for anything. The drawer jammed, and the paper fell to the floor.

Nothing major happened today.
I woke up before sunrise. The silence was still complete. I made too much coffee again—I keep getting the measurements wrong, even after all these years. I guess I like knowing there's some left over.
The day passed uneventfully. The same streets, the same people, the same thoughts that pretend not to return, but do. Sometimes I find myself waiting for something at the end of the afternoon, as if something had arranged to arrive and was just running late.
There are songs I don't listen to anymore. Not because they hurt—it's just that they demand a version of me that no longer exists. Even so, I still remember the rhythm. The body remembers before the head.
Today I thought that maybe some things don't need an answer to have been real. Maybe they just needed to be said once, even if it was on the wrong paper, at the wrong time.
If you ever read this—whoever you are—don't feel any obligation whatsoever.
I didn't write to be saved.
Just so I don't leave everything trapped in here.
