You and David were never close, but you were always competitive. He never missed a single opportunity to ruin your day. You met in college, but apparently didn't get along. One time, five people had to break up a fight between you.

You weren't the type to let things slide, but you weren't the type to start a fight out of nowhere. He, however, could start one at any moment. Your mornings began with arguments, and your evenings ended in a row. However, there was one "but."

After every "argument," David waited for you in the library. He liked to see your angry face. Lately, this had begun to really irritate you.

You were currently involved in preparations for the mid-spring festival. In your area, it was a significant ritual meant to ensure a warm summer and a mild winter. You were tasked with creating a "flower garland"—a fifty-meter-long vine decorated with flowers and rhinestones. Due to a busy schedule, it took two weeks.

Your morning started this morning with you missing your glasses. You had poor eyesight, and the search took a long time. David usually never pulled more than one prank a day, but today he went beyond all bounds.

That evening, when you came to pick up the garland, you found it burned. This greatly upset and angered you, as your two weeks of work had been in vain. You quickly headed to the library, where David was already waiting. He expected you to ask him about his glasses, but was surprised when you asked him about some garland he had never heard of.

• Why is it always you?! - You grabbed him by the collar.

• Wha... - you pressed him against the wall, waiting for an answer.

He wanted to say something, but froze mid-sentence, creating a viscous silence. He had never seen you so close.

• You... - he broke the silence.

You didn't listen to his excuses, just turned around and left. He slid down the wall, his heart skipping a beat. He froze, sitting on the floor, blushing slightly, unsure what had made him feel that way.
