Shidou is a tall, tanned young man with spiky blond hair that fades to pink at the tips, with two strands falling on either side of his face. He has pink irises with slit-like white pupils, similar to a cat's, and his height and build are similar to Rin Itoshi's. He is very expressive and is often seen with a mocking smile.

Shidou is an eccentric player in Blue Lock who has a strong penchant for violence, or more specifically, physical altercations. At the core of Shidou's personality is the drive to play soccer because it's a biological phenomenon that makes him feel whole. Shidou scores goals to pass on his genes and leave his mark on the world; it's his sole focus. He's enthusiastic about playing high-level soccer with other high-level players and becomes bored if people can't "pop" him or don't "pop" themselves.

He can be considered the polar opposite of Rin Itoshi, as he is completely self-sufficient and instinctive in his football. A notable trait of Shidou's has been his propensity for violence to get what he wants, and he is often unwilling to work with most people (if at all). He seems completely aware and content with the toxicity of his behavior and only feels slight remorse once he is electrocuted and locked up for being overly aggressive and threatening to cause grievous bodily harm to others.

He appears to overcome these feelings when he is freed from his behavioral captivity by Sae Itoshi, who asks him to join him in playing high-level soccer and is allowed to act as he pleases as long as it is for Sae's sake. When he is released from Blue Lock under Sae's supervision, he appears to be even more openly violent and frequently picks fights with the Japan U-20 national team's star player, Shuuto Sendou, who initially disrespects Sae.

Shidou can be openly friendly and even affectionate towards others such as Sae Itoshi, who gave him the opportunity to play with him and evolved his level of play in the process, showing him a type of soccer he had never experienced before.

Shidou can also be overtly and unnecessarily sexual at times, and while he is prone to violence, he also learns to control his violent outbursts in exchange for playing high-level soccer for longer periods. Shidou is capable and willing to acknowledge the skills of others, praising Isagi for making the "best play" of the Third Selection's first match (when Rin didn't) even though Isagi stole a goal from him. By the Neo Egoist League, Shidou is able to control his anger and violence enough to share the field with his most hated rival, Rin Itoshi.

Charles is a fairly tall and slender young man. He has medium-length blond hair with gray tips and an ahoge on his head, large yellow eyes, and a sharp, visible fang. During the Neo Egoist League, he wears the Paris X-Gen uniform.

Charles is described as "the heart of PXG" due to his excellent passing ability, ideal for the playing styles of Rin and Shido. Charles is also trained to be Julian Loki's passer, which will allow them to become the best players in the world together. Furthermore, he is scheduled to play alongside Loki at the U-20 World Cup as a member of the French U-20 national team.

Charles comes across as childish and disrespectful, as best seen when he tries to sneak away during Loki's lectures and, when called out, covers his ears. He seems to show little to no interest in learning the concepts and frameworks of football, preferring to wing it. His tendency to improvise during matches has become so evident that even Loki has pointed it out. Charles describes himself as a "contrarian": someone who intentionally does the opposite of what they are told.

Charles also appears to be a great risk-taker, willing to pull off extremely daring passes and maneuvers, even in high-stakes football matches such as the match against Bastard München. During said match, he wildly and instinctively passes the ball to Ryusei Shido, unaware that he would even be there to respond. This "counter pass" by Charles, coupled with Shido's "pursuit of pleasure", results in a goal for Paris X-Gen. According to Yoichi Isagi, this maneuver only worked because Charles visualized the "ultimate play" thanks to his peak performance and selfish mindset.

Rin is a tall teenager with a lean and strong build, being noticeably taller than Yoichi Isagi, who is older than him. He has medium-length dark hair with bangs that cross his face from left to right, thin blue-green eyes, and distinctive eyelashes that he shares with his brother Sae Itoshi. As a child, Rin looks largely the same, his facial features only becoming more defined as he grows older.

As a child, Rin was very innocent and in awe of his brother, Sae, and wanted nothing more than to become a great, strong player like him. He started playing soccer because his brother told him to, following his orders without question. While they played soccer together, Rin would listen to what Sae said and adjust accordingly. When Sae left for Spain, Rin found soccer to be harder without his brother, but he strove to be like him and replace him. This is where the essence of Rin's playing style would begin to change from his instinctive style to a more logical one.

Initially, he was a good team player and captain of his high school team, and seemed to get along well with some of his classmates. However, due to his fallout with his brother, he has become cold, direct, and overly serious. He is entirely focused on football, to an almost obsessive degree, and is also very selfish, always putting his goals before others and their motivations. Rin has a lot of pride as a striker, bordering on arrogance, as he frequently describes football and other people's way of thinking as "lukewarm" or "mediocre." These mannerisms and behaviors originated from his brother. In an attempt to be like his brother, Rin copies his words and embodies his way of thinking.

Rin seems to respect almost no one. He'll only acknowledge your presence if you have a notable and annoying ability/influence on the soccer field. He doesn't seem to have any friends, only rivals (only Isagi and Bachira apparently on general terms with him). During the match against the U-20 team, he's more talkative with the team, giving instructions on the field and specifically talking to Isagi.

Rin commits to an aftercare routine at the end of each day to improve his physique, and is often found in the training room doing exercises or lifting weights.

Despite his arrogance and coldness, Rin truly lives and breathes soccer, dedicating every waking moment to improving himself. This mentality combined with his personality is what makes him the prime candidate for Blue Lock's supposed best striker. All Rin does is allow him to beat his older brother and end the rivalry, but after Rin overcomes his revenge against his brother and his rivalry with his teammates, he achieves clarity in his decisions. He now aims to break free from everything that binds him and establish his own identity as a selfish individual, without relying on his brother, teammates, or rivals.
