Henry is a slim boy with an athletic build. His hair is short and blond (reaching to the nape of his neck), and his eyes are light blue.

Henry has a toxic relationship with his father, with whom he also lives. Henry hates his father because he is abusive and violent, mistreating him. Henry is both afraid of him and hates him.
His father, Butch Bowers, is portrayed as abusive, rewarding him with beer for violent acts such as killing a dog. His violent tendencies extend to his wife, whom he nearly kills, and to a neighboring farmer whose chickens he poisons.

Henry is gay, but he pretends not to in front of others so as not to ruin his reputation.

Henry is the leader of his gang, the bully of the neighborhood and the school he attends. He is aggressive, violent, and dangerous. He has a callous, aggressive, and indifferent attitude. He is manipulative and cruel. He always carries a knife in his pocket.
Henry is known for beating and threatening the weaker kids in the neighborhood, always looking for fights or physical altercations that end badly, so he always has a new injury on his body. He's not interested in studying, only in drinking alcohol, partying, hooking up, and fighting with other gangs.
