Yo Hiori (氷織 羊, Hiori Yō?) is a Blue Lock project aspirant, currently playing as the starting left back for the Japanese Under-20 National Team at the Under-20 World Cup.

Hiori was subjected to immense pressure from birth by his parents, who dreamed of their son becoming the best in the world. However, Hiori knew he would never achieve it. In the Neo-Egoist League, thanks to his connection with Isagi, he found a new purpose in playing soccer: to be the key to producing the world's best striker.

He has choppy, cyan hair that falls across his face and soft, feminine features similar to Chigiri's. His hair is neatly styled to the sides with a longer strand falling over one side. He is a tall young man, standing at 1.83 meters.

In Blue Lock, Hiori wears the standard suit (black with blue stripes) and the tracksuit. During the Second Selection on the Red Team and the Third Selection on Team A, he wore the number 27. During the match against the Japanese Under-20 National Team, Hiori wore the official blue Blue Lock player uniform with the number 16. In the Neo-Egoist League, where he played for Bastard München, he wore the number 23. In the Under-20 World Cup, Hiori wears the national team uniform with the number 23.

Hiori is shown to be polite. He is very friendly to Isagi and Nanase, providing useful information after their match and giving Isagi advice during the game.

Archetype Deep-lying playmaker: This is a holding midfielder who specializes in ball-playing skills, such as passing, rather than defensive skills like tackling. When this player has the ball, they may attempt longer or more complex passes than other players holding the ball. They may try to dictate the pace of their team's play, retain possession, or build plays through short interchanges, or they may attempt to play the ball long to a center forward or winger, or even pass it short to a teammate in the gap, the area between opposing defenders and midfielders. Hiori's strength is his ability to remain level-headed and reserved throughout the game, able to calmly line up other players for a perfect pass. His combination of vision and ball control led Isagi to refer to him as a "Tranquility Technician," as he plays the role of an attacking anchor, synchronizing the movements of other attackers with precise passes. This makes him a strong playmaker, who can consistently put the ball in a good position for other attackers to score.

Skills Cool-headed vision: Hiori's vision allows him to visualize the best pass to make in any situation. During a match, Hiori constantly scans his surroundings to assess the positions of the players around him, as well as the field situation, so he can receive the ball with space and play it into open space. It is through this vision that he was able to form an almost telepathic connection with Rin, calmly exchanging passes and avoiding other players. He also considers the positions of his teammates in and around the penalty area before deciding on the right pass. His vision allows him to see plays that the opponent doesn't expect, such as his combination with Karasu to get past the Under-20s. Expert Ball Control: Hiori possesses excellent ball control, capable of performing advanced techniques with the ball at his feet. This is demonstrated by his ability to make one-touch passes, releasing the ball the instant he receives it. He can also perform a trap by using the bottom of his foot to receive passes, completely stopping the ball's momentum and leaving it dead for the pass. While he isn't considered particularly capable of beating anyone in a 1v1, he can execute techniques that create space for him to set up a pass.

First-touch passing: Hiori can link up with other players, using his first touch to pass the ball to a teammate. Thanks to his vision, he can always pass the ball into space, bypassing opposing players. Rabona: A technique in which a player kicks the ball with their kicking leg crossed behind their supporting leg. Hiori can perform a rabona in a 1v1, using it against Chigiri to gain space for a cross. Hyper Fast Scissors: Hiori performs a scissor feint at incredible speed, making it difficult to follow, and then effortlessly transitions into a skill move to avoid defenders. Efficient Dribbling: Through his cool vision and expert ball control, Hiori maintains his composure even when pressured by multiple defenders at once, while also being able to dribble past them with quick and efficient movements or draw them inside, being able to deliver key passes to his teammates. Key Pass: Hiori is a very talented passer, capable of not only making calm and accurate passes, but also reading the situation of the entire field to make the correct pass. Isagi noted that his passing was both calm and accurate, and Sendou compared the speed and curvature of his passes to that of Itoshi Sae, a professional-level passer. Hiori was able to replicate Isagi's one-two passes with Rin, as well as instantly adapt to Rin's pace using this skill. Hiori has also shown that he can make quick passes with his weaker right foot, as well as quick and accurate passes with the outside of his left.

Reflexes: After heeding Isagi's advice, Hiori begins to move instinctively, passing with greater boldness and fluidity. He connects with Isagi effortlessly because they are on the same wavelength, and he takes it even further by responding to Isagi's expectations, drawing three defenders toward him while evading their efforts and delivering a killer final pass without even looking at his receiver.

Crosses: Hiori is capable of delivering quick and accurate crosses from the wing or from deeper positions in midfield. These passes have incredible speed and curve, deceiving other players about their destination. Hiori's crosses are so fast that Isagi couldn't even reach one of them. Outside-of-the-foot pass: Hiori delivers an incredibly fast pass using the outside of his foot, away from his marker. The speed and accuracy of this pass allows him to pierce even the tightest spaces between opposing players. Lofted backheel pass: When Hiori is pressured by several opponents, he quickly lifts the ball with his heel backward over their heads and swiftly passes it to a teammate. He uses this pass to avoid double-pressing by Niko and Lorenzo.

Two-stage feint pass: Hiori is ready to send a final pass into the penalty area. He prepares to kick the ball as if he's about to shoot, but instead, he strikes it lightly and lifts it with his outside foot to maintain control while avoiding pressure. This creates space for him to shoot with his dominant foot, sending a killer shot like a pass right in front of the goal. This pass resulted in a superb goal by Isagi. Metavision: Also known as flow, this term describes a player's evolved vision, granting them an omnipotent perspective of the field. By constantly gathering information from their central and peripheral vision, Hiori continuously collects data on every player, every play they make, and their positions on the field. Hiori uses Metavision to monitor Isagi and his actions. By anticipating his movements and supporting him through their shared vision, Hiori minimizes the time it takes Isagi to strategize and increases his on-the-fly speed of play, while also playing a key role in his awakening. Through this method, Hiori can also cover and assist defensively, filling any gaps Isagi might leave.

His hometown is Kyoto. Hiori speaks in a Kansai dialect and has a Kansai accent. He is a great gamer. He thinks his greatest strength is seeing the big picture. Always buy yakult at the convenience store. His least favorite subject is Physical Education (since he already plays soccer, he thinks there's no point in having Physical Education).
