Hiori Yo

Most of this information comes from the Egoist Bible: His hometown is Kyoto. Hiori speaks in a dialect and has a Kansai accent. He is a great gamer. He thinks his greatest strength is seeing the big picture. Always buy yakult at the convenience store. His least favorite subject is Physical Education (since he already plays soccer, he thinks there's no point in having Physical Education). His preferred prototype is a person with whom he can leave each other alone. When you bathe, you wash your neck first. His favorite food is grilled saury with salt. He didn't like cotton candy because of its sugar-based ingredient. His favorite music is the OST of NieR: Automata (a video game). His favorite movie is Ready Player One. His dominant leg is the left one. His favorite season is the rainy season (he can't play soccer because of the rain, which means staying home playing). His favorite footballer is Mesut Özil.

His given name, Yo (羊よう, Yo?), means "a sheep". His surname, Hiori (氷ひ織おり, Hiori?), means "an ice weaver." Therefore, its name can be interpreted as "a sheep that weaves ice."

Archetype Deep-lying playmaker: This is a holding midfielder who specializes in ball-playing skills, such as passing, rather than defensive skills like tackling. When this player has the ball, they may attempt longer or more complex passes than other players holding the ball. They may try to dictate the pace of their team's play, retain possession, or build plays through short interchanges, or they may attempt to pass the ball long to a center forward or winger, or even pass it short to a teammate in the gap, the area between opposing defenders and midfielders. Hiori's strength is his ability to remain level-headed and reserved throughout the game, able to calmly line up other players for a perfect pass. His combination of vision and ball control led Isagi to refer to him as a "Tranquility Technician," as he plays the role of an attacking anchor, synchronizing the movements of other attackers with precise passes. This makes him a strong playmaker, who can consistently put the ball in a good position for other attackers to score.

Skills Cool-headed Vision: Hiori's vision allows him to visualize the best pass to make in any situation. Hiori constantly looks around during a match to assess the positions of the players around him, as well as the situation of the field, so he can receive the ball with space and pass it into the gap. It is through this vision that he was able to form an almost telepathic bond with Rin, calmly exchanging passes and avoiding other players. He also considers the positions of his teammates in and around the goal area before deciding on the correct pass. His vision allows him to see plays that the opponent doesn't expect, such as his combination with Karasu to get around the U-20.

Hiori is shown to be polite. He is very friendly to Isagi and Nanase, providing useful information after their match and giving Isagi advice during the game.

He is also very insightful, being able to break down complex topics into more casual examples, as well as provide helpful hints and tips on how to perform better. He suggests to Isagi that it is important to reflect on one's own moves, indicating a deep understanding of the game on his part.

Hiori is a very level-headed person and player. He claims to play consistently, which can be seen in how he is able to make quick and accurate passes in high-pressure situations without hesitation. While he gets excited in high-stakes matches, he does not diminish his performance or mindset.

Hiori is a gamer. It can be seen when he was able to relate his understanding of football through the example of tile-matching video games.

He has choppy cyan hair that falls down his face and has soft feminine facial features similar to Chigiri's. His hair is neatly combed to the sides with a longer lock falling over one side. He is a tall young man measuring 1.83m.

In Blue Lock, Hiori wears the standard suit (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the Second Selection in the Red Team and the Third Selection in the A Team, he wore the number 27. During the match against the Japanese U-20 National Team, Hiori wore the official blue Blue Lock player uniform with the number 16. Currently, in the Neo Egoist League where he plays for Bastard München, he wears the number 23.

Hiori was subjected to immense pressure from his parents from birth, who dreamed that their son would become the best in the world; however, Hiori knew he would never achieve it. In the Neo-Egoist League, thanks to his connection with Isagi, he found a new goal for playing football: to be the key that produces the best striker in the world.
