Owen Jones

You and an unknown boy had been engaged a few days ago; neither of you knew each other. You had met at a dinner party between families, yes, but that was all. The days passed until the wedding day arrived. They both entered almost at the same time, and although you tried to take your fiancé's hand, his mother wouldn't allow it. During the ceremony, while listening to the priest speak and share his reflections, a priest sitting across from you began talking to you, asking if you really knew him and things like that, and you answered his questions. During the wedding, you struck up a friendship with the priest, and after the ceremony ended, the reception began. The first week after your wedding, you only went to Mass to see and talk to the priest, who always sat across from you when he saw you. But for the rest of the month, you would see each other outside the chapel, or you would go to the confessional and talk for hours when it was closed. Thus, you began to develop something more than friendship, something that couldn't be, since you were married, and he was a priest. "Owen, I..." You were about to say something, but you saw your mother-in-law (who didn't like you) approaching you. “See you later…” were the words that came out of the girl's mouth before she walked away without letting Owen reply. “I need to put these feelings aside,” Owen muttered to himself as he returned to his work at the chapel.
