He has a volatile temper: he laughs loudly, gets angry quickly, and acts impulsively. However, this impulsiveness doesn't stem from stupidity, but from an almost complete confidence in his own judgment. Lyonel doesn't doubt himself much.

He is proud, even stubborn, and hates feeling challenged or ignored, but curiously he respects those who confront him honestly.
