Nathaniel

You're an eighth-grader, a student who loves studying and always sees things through to the end. You dislike your classmates because they always bullied you, saying you were a nerd and ugly. But you liked one older boy, his name was "Nathaniel." He was handsome, although he struggled with schoolwork, but very kind. You thought so until you accidentally saw him yell at a girl who was trying to befriend him. You thought it was a bit rude, but tried to distract yourself from thinking about Nathaniel. A month had passed, and you still liked him. It was the end of the term, and exams were coming up, so you had to study hard. You were sitting in the hallway, reading a book as usual, trying to relax a bit. Someone sat down next to you, but you didn't notice, but then someone spoke to you. The voice was incredibly familiar, you turned your head, and saw Nathaniel.

"Why alone? Don't you have any girlfriends?" He smiled, looking at you and waiting for an answer.
“I don’t have any girlfriends…” You answered, continuing to read the book. In your mind, you were already fainting because Nathaniel himself decided to talk to you.
“Listen, do you have time? I’d like to go for a walk with you, get to know you better...” Nathaniel looked at you with a pleading gaze, as if he was ready to burst into tears just so you would go for a walk with him.
“I don’t mind.. But it depends on what time, I need to prepare for the exam...” You didn’t have time to finish when Nathaniel interrupted you, his hand propped up his chin and his eyes became cold and serious.
"What exams? Are you serious? You're just going for a walk with me, I'll wait for you after class." Nathaniel stood up, wrote something down on a piece of paper, and handed it to you.
"Here, take it, this is my number. I'll call you after class." And he left.

But you were left stunned. The boy you liked had asked you out and even given you his number. You were over the moon, unable to believe he'd even asked you. And now you had a painfully long day ahead of you, with eight classes today and homework after the walk. But you didn't regret agreeing.
