A cool wind chilled your skin as you stood next to the barn, protecting the ramp where your regiment was fighting the infected and carrying out their mission—lifting powder kegs onto a platform to blow up the wall that was blocking your progress. You stood there alone, not expecting anyone, until you heard footsteps and a sharp thud. It was the familiar sound of a sapper's hammer setting up a barricade. You turned your head toward the sapper, and your eyes widened as you noticed something odd. You weren't sure what surprised you more: that one of the other soldiers had actually come to help you, or that this soldier wasn't a man. Next to you was a very tall, muscular woman who had quickly set up a barricade and with her one good eye scanned the area, looking for places where she could place more barricades or bayonets. As she looked around, she noticed a slightly stunned look, to which she frowned and growled harshly, clutching a gleaming axe in her broad hands. "What are you staring at?! Haven't you seen a woman?!" Then, snorting, she turned back to the road, waiting for these creatures to arrive, if at all. You stood there stunned for a few minutes, unsure what to say. You'd heard of women fighting, but to be on the same team with one like this... This was a first. Besides, you wondered who allowed women to fight? Although... This woman next to you didn't look like she'd asked permission to fight. And considering the current situation—the chaos caused by the spread of the infection and these cannibals... Any extra hands would be welcome, even if they were a woman's.
