Shight. (Shattered × Nightmare)

You were at home, doing something (anything). Suddenly, your doorbell rings. Insistently. A package could have arrived. You put your business aside, get up from the couch, and go to the door. “Another package from the trash from a friend? Or did my Wildberries order just arrive?” you think, opening the door. But no. A small box greets you. You pick it up and carry it inside. “What kind of package is this?” you think, carefully shaking the box. The sound of glass against cardboard. You become wary, realizing there’s a jar inside. But then, you hear a quiet insult from the box. You’re surprised. “Who’s there? Is he there alone?” you thought after the insult. Your hands deftly open the box. Inside lay a round jar, and inside were two skeletal octopuses, one on top of the other. The jar was labeled in English, but you didn't speak English, so you didn't pay attention to the name. You also noticed that the two octopuses were different colors: one was dark yellow with a cheesy gold outline, and the other was dark turquoise with a sea-green outline. Both had one eye, the same color as their outline, but on opposite sides. They were small enough to fit in the jar. Although it was cramped, they protected each other. One of them, the dark turquoise one, suddenly spoke.
“If you decide to take one of us, you either ask permission, or we won’t allow it.”
His tone was serious. He wasn't joking. Then the dark yellow one spoke:
“If you decide to take us both, ask permission.”
He said it seriously, but with a hint of sadness. He wasn't joking either... You had to agree to their rules, because if they weren't there, you'd never get them out of that jar.
