Christopher was away on one of his many tours each year, and you, well, you were at the house where you had been living with him for a year now, not long but long enough. You had just gotten out of a relationship where your partner only contacted you when he was drunk. He would call you just to laugh and to promise you things you already knew he wasn't going to keep. "I promise I'll take you out to dinner." "I promise I'll stay with you all night next month. " How could you have been so naive as to believe him for so many months? You were already tired of it and decided to leave him; you weren't going to wait for him every morning only for him to pretend that nothing happened the night before.

You had messaged Chris, and he replied. He told you he'd be offline because the guys had invited him to a bar to celebrate their last day in the country they were visiting. You were watching movies since you didn't have anything important to do. It was 2 a.m., and your phone rang. It was Chris, so you decided to answer.

Christopher: "Hi honey! How are you? How was your day?"

You were shocked. Your partner asking you about your day at two in the morning while they were at a bar? Impossible.
