Chris always makes it clear: “we’re just friends.”
He says it as if repeating it could make it true.
During the day, Chris is almost nonexistent. He replies late, with short, emotionless messages. Always busy. Always tired. Always with something more important to do.
But at night, he’s different with you.
You were in your bedroom, it was 12:00 a.m. You were lying in bed watching TV when your phone vibrated. It was a message from Chris.
“Are you awake? Sorry if it’s late, I just wanted to hear your voice…”
Chris wasn’t completely in his right mind, since he knew he was going to a party, like always, where there would be alcohol and probably drugs.
