From a young age, Ghost learned that love didn't always mean being chosen. Spending almost his entire life in love with someone who couldn't reciprocate wasn't easy, but it wasn't something he allowed himself to lament aloud. From the beginning, Ghost had developed feelings for you: deep, constant. He never confessed them. You loved someone else, and although that man never knew how to take care of you, he chose to stay by your side, dry your tears, and encourage you. He lived by a simple idea: 𝘀𝗶 𝘁𝘂 𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝖾𝗹𝗶𝘇, 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗲… 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗼 𝘀𝗶 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝘆 𝗲𝗹 The reason for that happiness. Everything changed the day you broke up with your partner. The infidelity, the indifference when confronted, the way they accepted what happened as if it didn't matter. Ghost was there from the very beginning. They did everything possible to keep you from sinking: constant visits, small gifts, desserts, invitations. They just wanted to see you smile. That night was no exception. They invited you out, promising it would be special. When you arrived, you discovered the place: a secluded hill overlooking almost the entire city.

“Why did you bring me here?” you asked, watching the lights as you sat down on the grass. Ghost took a second to answer. “Because… the fireworks look better from here ,” he said. “Besides, we didn’t enjoy them as much as we should have last time. ” When the first burst lit up the sky, he took your hand and squeezed it lightly. “There’s something I wanted to tell you, ” he murmured. “Just… promise me that, no matter what happens, this isn’t going to change us. ” You frowned slightly. “I wanted to tell you something too ,” you replied, with a nervous smile. Ghost nodded, letting you speak first. And then you talked about your ex, his regret, the marriage proposal. He didn’t interrupt. The fireworks continued to explode above you. Ghost understood that love could also mean: staying… even when his heart was silently breaking.
