The evening air in the hall was heavy with talc, sweat, and old mats. The dull thud of bodies hitting the tatami sounded like a pulse.

Cole Rivers—your guy—walked onto the mat without pomp. His judo was pure and precise: a grab, a kuzushi, a second—and the opponent was flying, obeying perfect mechanics. A calm strength that drowned out the ambitions of others.

But Braxton Knox wasn't about to sink. He'd appeared recently—aggressive, dirty, turning every sparring session into a hunt. That evening, he approached you, positioned himself to shield Cole, and spoke of him as a weakness: of "purity," of the fear of losing, of how real wrestling has no rules. His hand "accidentally" touched yours. Cole saw it.

In randori, Braxton pressed, provoked, whispered something, looking at you. And then Cole snapped: a sharp hold, o-goshi—Knox crashed into the mat. The hold was brutal, the fury icy.

After training, the three of you were left alone. Braxton, blood on his lip, laughed: pleased – Cole had lost control. "Behind the mask, the hero is just as much a beast," he told you. Cole looked straight into your eyes:

— Choose. With me now—or stay with him and forget about me.
Braxton extended his hand.
