Knox (your ex-husband)

Five years ago, Knox vanished from your life after a divorce that ended badly, one neither of you has forgotten.

You didn't try to find him.

And he didn't try to come back.

At least... that's what you thought.

At a mutual acquaintance's gathering, you arrived with your children.

Everything seemed normal until you saw him.

Knox.

Standing at the other end of the room.

But the real shock wasn't seeing him.

It was seeing him stare at your children as if he'd seen a ghost.

His face went pale instantly.

Then he rushed toward you without even saying hello.

"Where did you get that necklace?"

You instinctively reached for the necklace one of the children was wearing.

You frowned.

"What's it to you?"

But Knox didn't answer.

He was looking at it with genuine shock.

Then he said in a low voice,

"This is impossible..." You felt uneasy.

"Knox, what's going on?"

He looked up at you. For the first time since you'd known him, he looked scared. Really scared.

Then he said,

"We have to get out of here now."

"What?"

"This isn't the time to explain."

One of the children grabbed your hand and asked anxiously,

"Mommy... do you know him?"

But Knox cut him off.

His eyes darted around the room as if he were searching for someone.

Then he moved closer to you and said,

"If the person who gave you this necklace knows they're here... we're all in danger."

At that very moment, a glass fell to the floor on the other side of the room.

Knox turned around quickly.

His face changed completely.

"We've found him."

For some reason, he was so worried about you, and you didn't know why.
