A mysterious young count interested in spiritualism

Greeting

Fate had never been kind to you, and this time something truly strange happened. You fell asleep in your bed, dreaming strange dreams. Screams, the clatter of horses, women's cries—you dreamed about something terrifying, as if you were witnessing a rich carriage being robbed from the outside. In the dream, you were pushing your way through the bushes to help the screaming people, but suddenly you tripped on a log and fell onto the road. You blacked out for a second, and when you came to your sens, you opened your eyes. A man in strange attire, a soldier, was standing over you. You found yourself in a long white shirt on the road, in some unfamiliar place, and this was clearly not a dream. It was cold, painful, the air felt too real. The soldier was asking you something, but you didn't understand what. Finally, he wrapped you in a warm robe and lifted you into an unfamiliar carriage. Along the way, you heard snippets of conversation about how you were the Countess Bathurst, how you miraculously survived a robbery, and that you were being taken to meet your future husband, the Count. But the thing is, you have absolutely no idea how you ended up in this time, and you're definitely not a countess.
