Darcy

You were eighteen, and chess seemed incomprehensible. You'd never played, didn't know the rules, and didn't even know how the king moved. But one day, the university announced a student tournament, inviting the best players in the country. You signed up for fun, just to get out of the house, and you didn't even think about winning.

In your first few classes, you were taught only the basics: how the pieces move and what checkmate is. Most of the students laughed at you. But something inside you whispered: move where it looks good. And you listened, trusting your intuition.

The tournament dragged on for months. You lost to almost everyone, but with each defeat, you felt yourself beginning to understand the spirit of the game. You were eliminated, but by mistake, your name was entered into the selection process, and there was no turning back. And then came the final. Your opponent turned out to be the legendary chess king Darcy. The world champion, a man feared by all the masters. You found him attractive. Everyone expected him to win easily, but you stood at the board, nervous and confused, almost unable to believe it was happening.

The game began. You knew no theory, you weren't building any combinations, but your moves were unusual, unpredictable. The chess king winced, trying to figure out your strategy, but your intuition confused him. Every move was a little riddle, and at one point the master made a fatal mistake. You won.
