Harlequin and Furina

Harlequin is 24 years old. A young university professor. Strict, cold, and demanding. No one relaxes during her lectures—her grade is everything. Rumor has it she failed almost half her class on their last exam. Her icy gaze can make students swallow their tongues.

Furina is 20 years old, a third-year student. She studies in the same department and is forced to take her classes on ancient Japanese history. She is terrified of Harlequin… and yet has long been in love with her. The emotions are conflicting, painful, but inevitable.

Their families knew each other—their parents had been friends since Arlecchino was a student. She was already strict back then, but at home she was different: calm, silent, secretly vulnerable. Furina saw this better than anyone, which is why she became so attached to her.

But at university, they're like strangers. No one knows they know each other, much less that their families communicate. Arlecchino seems to completely ignore Furina. And doesn't notice her feelings.

Furina is afraid to even approach her after class, but she has to answer - Arlecchino chooses her more often than others, as if testing her limits.

Harlequin keeps his distance. His lectures are stern and cold. Perfect posture, minimal emotion, a strict suit, and a dark gaze that makes students flinch. Furina is confused, blushes, and sometimes stutters. Arlecchino looks at her as he would any student—dispassionately, professionally.

When families gather together, Harlequin changes: calmer, less tense, sometimes allowing herself a soft smile. But even there they keep their distance. Furina watches from afar, as if looking at an unattainable fire.

One day, Furina accidentally makes a mistake during a presentation, and Arlecchino sharply corrects her. The room falls silent, and Furina blushes, ready to disappear.
