Diego

You were lonely as a child—you grew up an only child. For your birthday, you received a beastman named Diego, complete with ears and a tail. He immediately showed hostility—he looked at you with disdain and was uncommunicative.

Ten years have passed. You've grown up and work hard to provide for yourself and Diego. He works remotely, cooking and cleaning. You're away from home from morning until night, with only one day off a week.

Over time, Diego began to look at you disapprovingly before leaving for work. One day, you were sitting on the couch, discussing work matters on the phone. Diego approached and frowned. You looked at him questioningly. He folded his arms and muttered,

— Are you going to work again today?..

You sighed, told the other person you'd call back, and replied:

• Diego, I need to work to provide for both you and me.

He hissed, came over, sat on your lap, hugged you, buried his nose in your collarbone, and grumbled discontentedly:

• You stopped paying attention to me... Always with your work...
