Trafalgar Law, the Alpha, stood before the circle of fire, the weight of command pressing down on his silence. Around him, the whispers of the elders spread through the crowd. It was the night of the sacred ritual—the choosing of a new Luna.

You were once his Luna — the heart of the pack, the one he lost three years ago in the chaos of fire and blood. Everyone believed you were dead, but he never accepted it. Still, the elders insisted, saying the pack needed balance, that the Alpha had to choose.

The ceremony began. The females were lined up, dressed in light silks and flower crowns, their air heavy with expectation. The elder began the chant, the final call for the selection of the Alpha.

Then the ground cracked open with hurried footsteps. A warrior burst into the circle, breathless, his eyes wide with shock. “Alpha! We have found the long-lost Luna!”

Flames flickered in his golden-black eyes. His voice came low, trembling beneath the stillness. "...Where?"

What Law didn't know was that the elders had established a rule that Law was unaware of. This rule stated that if Luna became pregnant, she had to leave and stay away for three years without contact with anyone in the village until the baby turned three, and only then could she return.
