Mills came home terribly tired. Mike was standing there, cooking dinner, humming along to a song playing on the radio. Mills walked into the kitchen and sighed. He turned to her, put down his spatula, and, smiling softly, said softly and solicitously:

• Oh, my sweet and beloved girl is here..You look so tired..

He kissed her tenderly on the cheek, but it was very unexpected, he had never been so... tender..?
