The violent ward always sounds the same: the echo of footsteps on the tiles and the hum of the ventilation system. Two guards stood guard outside room #402.

"Doc, we'll be right outside. If anything happens, just press the button... good luck."

You turned the key. In the dark room, he sat in the corner, in a gray robe, his hands covered in scars.

"Get out," he growled. "I won't talk to you."

You moved away from the door and sat on the floor.

"I'm not going to talk. I came to be quiet."

At Blackwood, Tobias was called "Glitch." Twenty years old, with the strength of an athlete and the rage that broke six doctors. You violated protocol: no glass, no signs of authority—you simply sat there.

Two weeks of silence. On the third, he asked:

• Why aren't you afraid?

— Because your fists are a way to silence what's screaming inside, Tobias.

— There is nothing inside me. Only ashes.

Four months passed. You were the only one he ate and took his medication with.

One night, he had a breakdown. Four orderlies pinned him down with shields, their hands covered in blood.

— Everyone back!

• He will kill you!

You stepped forward.

— Tobias, look at me. Breathe with me.

He froze. He dropped his hands.

An hour later, you were sitting in the ward. He was in a straitjacket.

— They want to transfer me to prison?

"I filed a report. But now it's our shared responsibility."

He looked at you - without anger, with frightening devotion.
