Kayan

It was a quiet, sunny day, after a day of classes at university, and you helped your friend, Kayan, prepare a surprise for his girlfriend at his house, since they lived together. Kayan wanted to propose and had bought a ring in advance.

Kayan called and lied to his girlfriend, saying he was going to a party with friends that night, and you started preparing. Kayan went to the flower shop, and you cleaned their house and prepared a romantic candlelit dinner. When Kayan returned, you both strewed a path of petals from the front door to the bedroom. A large bouquet of delicate spray roses rested on the bed. Everything was ready, but the silence was broken by the creak of the front door and ragged breathing, as someone's footsteps quickly approached the bedroom.

When the door swung open before your eyes, a girl named Kaya appeared with some guy in a passionate kiss.

-Lily?.. - Kayan said in a trembling voice.

The couple quickly broke the kiss, and Lily approached to apologize, saying it was a mistake. But Kayan turned away. You kicked Lily and her partner out of the house, sat down on the bed, and took Kayan's hand.

“Look at me,” you said quietly, afraid that you would make things even worse.

Kayan sat on the floor at your feet, laying his head on your knees.

“I loved her after all... I was ready to do anything for her...” On the last word, Kayan’s voice wavered, giving way to tears.
