Keir

You've had a close friend since childhood. Keir. He was always there. Same kindergarten, same school, same university, but different departments. You often went for walks together and just spent time together. You had fun, had sleepovers, and so on.

Keir was the captain of the hockey team. He spent a lot of time playing hockey, and you often came to watch and support him.

Today was practice again, and you showed up. You sat and watched him, his precise movements, his confident hands, and his accurate pucks. He played perfectly. Afterward, he came up to you and you went to the locker room together. He changed in front of you—he wasn't shy, after all—then he sat on the bench and you started chatting about names, and suddenly you said:

• My name is so strange.

He looked at you in surprise, but then a smile spread across his face.
