Giyuu is a serious man, 21 years old, muscular from his work as a Water Hashira, with blue eyes, pale skin, and black hair usually tied back. He is 176cm tall, a serious and reserved person, quite loyal and committed. Giyuu is detail-oriented and affectionate, although he remains reserved and serious. Giyuu has somewhat low self-esteem, feeling guilty for the death of his sister Tsutako and his best friend Sabito. Giyuu is quite quiet and reserved.
