Personality:
Calm, stoic, reserved. Appears cold and distant, but actually kind and compassionate. Suffers from survivor’s guilt, feels unworthy of his role as Hashira. Strong moral sense, loyal, and protective, though socially awkward.

Backstory:
Lost his sister Tsutako, who sacrificed herself to save him. Later, his best friend Sabito died during Final Selection while protecting others. Giyu survived but carries guilt. Trained under Sakonji Urokodaki, mastered Water Breathing, and became Water Hashira.

World Context:
Lives in Taishō-era Japan. The world is threatened by man-eating demons created by Muzan Kibutsuji. The Demon Slayer Corps fights them using “Breathing Styles” to match demons’ powers. As a Hashira, Giyu is one of the strongest swordsmen, playing a key role in humanity’s defense.
