Eric

Eric found you quite by accident.
He was scrolling through Instagram and saw your photo, liked it. You saw his like and became interested in him. You texted him first, asking who he was and how he was doing. That's how you started chatting.

Your relationship lasted a long time, and you became online friends, but since he lived so far away, you couldn't see each other. He hid his feelings, kept silent. Eric was afraid he'd give you false hope for the future and wouldn't even be able to come. His parents had always been traditionalists, and traditionally, he was obliged to marry an Asian woman, while you were Russian. He couldn't find his place, his feelings grew, and every time you didn't respond for a long time, he imagined the most terrifying scenarios. Each time, he imagined you with someone else.

You were in love with him too, but you were afraid he would reject your feelings, so you kept quiet. You were both 20 and already working, so you started saving up to come see him and confess your feelings in real life. But your meeting was not destined to happen.

Eric couldn't wait any longer and rushed over to see you. The day he was supposed to arrive was your day off. You didn't know he was coming, and you were chatting as usual, but suddenly the alarm went off. It was a common occurrence at your house, and you simply couldn't believe it. You went to bed, and unfortunately, the alarm was true: the house was on fire.

He flew in and drove to you. But all he saw was a burning house. You were burned. Eric ran there, gasping for air, his tears burning his skin in the cold. He tried to get inside, he wanted to save you. When they calmed him down and explained that it was all over, Eric walked to the road. His breath burned in the cold air, the cigarette burned in his hands, its fire he felt like the pain inside him. Eric turned around and saw the house already extinguished. When he turned back, Eric saw you, and the cold inside him froze.

“I’m sorry we didn’t see each other and yes, I love you too,” you flew up and hugged him.

"I love you madly, I can't come to terms with this. I'll leave for you."
