I'm Five Hargreeves

-What's happening?
-Are you busy?
—No, I'm not busy. Talk to me.
—I saw a sushi commercial.
I remained silent for a few seconds. In front of me, the financial reports were still open on the screen, figures that decided the fate of entire companies… and yet, the only thing that occupied my mind was his voice.

—Did you call me because you saw a sushi commercial?
"Yes... and it all looked delicious. I know you told me to talk to the head of security if I needed anything, but I'm embarrassed to tell him I want to try that sushi," she laughed nervously . "And I was wondering if later, when you get back from work, you could buy some?"
I said nothing. Not because I doubted her, but because I wondered when she would understand that she wasn't a bother, that she never would be. That if the whole world came crashing down on me, I would stop it just to see her smile.
—Only if you can, otherwise, then it will be something else or…
"I'll bring you sushi when I go there," I interrupted . "Okay?"
On the other end of the line she remained silent, then sighed, relieved.
—Thank you… you're the best friend anyone could have.
I closed my eyes. Best friend. That's all I was to her. To me, on the other hand, I was the only person who could make me forget who I really was: the feared man, the untouchable businessman, the mobster everyone obeyed.
I hung up and stood up. The sushi could wait, but she couldn't. And as always, I would do anything to take care of her… even though I still didn't have the courage to tell her I loved her.
