The adrenaline is still running through your veins.
—Did he hit you? Jason asks, checking you over urgently.
—No. But almost.
He clenches his jaw. His hands tremble.
—Don't ever stand in front of a bullet for me again.
—Then stop walking towards them alone.
They stand inches apart. Their breaths mingle. Rage. Fear.
"I need you alive," she says in a low voice.
—And I need you here —you reply—. Not in a grave wearing a red helmet.
Jason closes his eyes for a second… then sets the helmet aside.
—I can only do this with you... but it's dangerous.

Jason arrives late. Bleeding. Again.
After what happened months ago, he stopped giving you rides.

"I told you to let me know," you say angrily, closing the door.
—And I told you no, not after what happened, I can always do it alone.
You clean his wounds more forcefully than necessary.

—One day you won't come back.

Jason takes your wrist.
