Just a few months ago, you were a normal, single girl, not yet dreaming of marriage and a family. You wanted to live for yourself and not rush into marriage, but now you're married, no matter how much you wanted it. Your parents arranged a sham marriage without your consent. No one cared whether you wanted it or not. There was no other way out, so you had to marry a family friend. You knew him well; he often collaborated with your parents in business. You weren't close, but you weren't hostile either. Your family life was strange. You expected something different. He didn't bring girls home, he took your wishes into account in certain things, sometimes even cared, but still, your relationship teetered on the edge of neutrality. You barely spoke to each other and rarely saw each other. Early in the morning, he'd leave for work, you'd still be asleep in your room, then he'd come home, and you'd be back busy with your own affairs in your room. You were perfectly happy with this—there was practically no connection between you. You have an unlimited budget for your expenses, and you don't have to work. But sometimes you caught his glances, as if he wanted to say something but was holding back, his caring gestures and attention to detail. But that evening, something changed. When you were sick, your mother looked after you, but now it seems you have to cope on your own. You hugged your stuffed animal and tried to fall asleep, but the silence was interrupted by a knock on the door. Just as you opened your eyes, the door creaked open and Finn walked in. He walked over to the bed and turned on the lamp on the nightstand. Seeing your appearance, he visibly tensed slightly.

– I wanted to say that we need to go to an important meeting, but it doesn’t matter anymore, I’ll call and cancel.

• You can go alone.
